Another brush with a brand I respect, todays Mezcal review comes to us from Real Minero. Distilled by Edgar Angeles in Santa Catarina Minas using Marteno and Barril agaves. Distilled via clay pot, this should be an interesting one, hailing from batch ARBM-01 in 2018. Let's get to it.
Cream cheese, asparagus, honey, garlic and some wood smoke. Complex, savory.
Sweet, meaty, spicy and rich, Blend cream cheese frosting, beef bouillon, garlic shoots and honey. Faintly acidic, some nice ash on the back palate. Rich, and a hair hot on but not excessive.
Long, powerful and meaty. Beef jerky, garlic, pepper, and some saltine cracker. Carries for miles.
Whew, this is quite a trip. A meaty, savory, peppery trip. I like it quite a bit, and the complexity is really fascinating. I could sit with this for hours.
