Distilled by Armando Martinez and aged in oak barrels for an unspecified period of time, this Espadin Reposado is produced in Oaxaca for Mezcal Amaras.
Light toffee, cinnamon, clove and a hint of cream sweetness.
Medium mouthfeel, sweet buttercream, honey, toffee and light brown sugar.
Medium finish that's a touch bitter, but roasted agave sweetness overcomes the barrel character here and mingles with pepper on the finish.
Overall, enjoyable if simple Espadin. The barrel influence is undeniable, but it works well enough.
