Distilled by Jose Diaz Bustamante, this release for La Medida was produced using Agave Tobaziche. Open air fermented in wooden vats, along with distillation on copper, this shouldn't be lacking in flavor. Let's get to it.
Roasty and toasty agave. Sweet pineapple, some char, lovely fruit note with some caramel and honey. Sourdough crust, pepper, delicious.
Rich and roasty once more. Sweet pineapple, mango, pepper, faint brine, hint of clay. Powerful on the palate with some clay essence and a growing smoke character.
Long finish. More acidic, vinegar forward, with great clay notes and some faint ash smoke. Yum.
This is really great, showing La Medida has the staying power to maintain an already great track record. Powerful, complex, enticing, Its got it all.
