Distilled by an unknown producer in San Dionisio Ocotopec, this brand new label promises Artesenal quality with some interesting agaves and ensambles at prices that are perhaps too good to be true. Let’s dive in to the Cuishe expression.
Rich pear, peach and honey. Musty, old books, mildly lactic. A lot of acidity, kind of that ammonia note that some weird Karwinskii can sometimes have.
Thin to medium on the palate. Sweet peach, honey, a hint of pepper and slate. Faint smoke. More complex than expected, fresh and ripe.
Short to medium finish. Sweet, creamy, fruity and a bit of earth and terroir.
Overall, pretty nice. It’s well priced for what you get, at 54.99USD or so, but it can’t compare to a cuishe from other producers I like much more. That said, it’s a great introduction to the style, at a price that hopefully makes diving down the agave rabbit hole much more enticing to the curious.
