Excerpt: Sweet and creamy. Minerality, fresh pineapple. Apple, pear, faint smoke. Some clay. Lightly woody. So much going on. Really interesting. Starting fruity, ending smoky. Quite the transition. Delightful.
Excerpt: Full bodied but not oily, there’s a hot-sweet smoke with bitter greens and a whisper of roofing tar on the tongue. The earthy rustic character is tempered by just the right amount of sweet agave.
Excerpt: This exotic mezcal is immediately mushroomy, savory, and rich. Things brighten up on the more rounded palate, showcasing apple and pear notes, some herbs, and a light floral touch. That mushroomy, umami-laced character lingers throughout, complementing a complex and sultry mezcal nicely.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled from the Tobala maguey in the 12-18yr maturity range, this expression from Del Maguey was produced by Rogelio Martinez Cruz and Leopoldino Miranda in the Santa Maria Albarradas village. Let's dive in.
Nose:
Hugely sweet and fruity bouquet on the nose. Mango, pineapple, lightly meaty, loaded with minerals and sweetness. One of the most vibrantly fruity noses I’ve encountered.
Taste:
Sweet and creamy. Minerality, fresh pineapple. Apple, pear, faint smoke. Some clay. Lightly woody. So much going on.
Finish:
Long, powerfully ashy. The fruitiness from the nose is gone and this transforms into a crushed stone and ash smoke bomb on the departure.
