Produced in the village of San Luis del Rio, this bottling of SLdR is an old one - produced in 2012. This comes from the 3rd batch of that year, with no word as to the producer, in typical DM fashion.
Vibrant, acidic and bright. Savory - notes like vinegar, clay, lemon zest and soil dominate the nose. A hint of sweet, roasted agave.
Sweet on the palate, a bit misunderstood from the nose. Lovely slate note, a touch of vanilla, citrus zest, faint chemical note and a bit of bold pepper.
White pepper, woody ash, cream and a bit of soil on the finish.
This is pretty nice. It’s not stealing any shows, but it’s competently made.
