Excerpt: Moderate mouthfeel, natural and well blended: combines honey, apples, pears, sweet oak and a hint of pepper, clove and buttercream [...] Overall, this is a totally competent añejo that avoids burying agave’s bright character while managing plenty of tannin and baking slice.
Excerpt: A generous burst of earthy, roasted agave leads the flavor profile on the palate, backed up by caramel popcorn and hints of grapefruit peel. The finish is balanced between a fresh minerality with a pop of sandalwood and black pepper.
Excerpt: Intermingling soft flavors of dark chocolate, caramel, light agave, and lemon pith. This is a mellow tequila with a silky mouthfeel and a long finish. As I delved further into my glass, the tequila’s body got deeper and more satisfying. This is a tequila for sipping by the fireplace.

House Review
Intro:
Cierto Tequila launched in early 2023 courtesy of NOM 1146, the same distillery that produces Don Fulano, Tears of Llorona, Cimarron and other beloved favorites. Let's see if this añejo lives up to the high standard of quality.
Nose:
Rich and ripe on the nose, full of toffee, apples, pears, mango and bananas. It’s fruity and ripe with plenty of decadent creme brûlée and a hint of oak.
Taste:
Moderate mouthfeel, natural and well blended: combines honey, apples, pears, sweet oak and a hint of pepper, clove and buttercream.
Finish:
Long finish, spice forward at first, gives way to buttercream, honey, mango’s and melon.
Overall:
Overall, this is a totally competent añejo that avoids burying agave’s bright character while managing plenty of tannin and baking spice. It’s not the most complex pour you’ll see this year but it’s totally enjoyable.
