Produced using a 100% agave, fermented in open air via concrete tank, this blanco release from Cascahuin is a verified additive free Blanco Tequila. Todays review comes from Lot 1048, and was distilled using a stainless pot with copper coil. Let's get to it.
Sweet, savory, loaded with tons of agave, papaya, cream, pepper and a hint of some lactic funk. Enticing, inviting.
Medium bodied on the palate. Loads of minerality, charcoal, some faint ash, pepper and a hint of melon rind. More bitter, smoky, mineral focused than sweet and sweet agave forward. Yummy and savory.
Long and rich, loaded with pepper and some minerality. More wood smoke and ash than Id have expected, but it lends a great deal of complexity.
I like this. It bucks the trend of super sweet, and adds a ton of character I wasnt expecting.
